One Note
Somewhere
in the discontent of all the passing years
Flies the wind of my abandoned dreams.
Felt so far behind, left languished by my fears,
Life is really never what it seems.
What were those things I boasted?
Why did they disappear?
Is there a chance I can retake my stance,
Open my eyes, and make my vision clear?
Just give
me One Note,
One sign, one peace in time.
Just give me one hope,
One place, some lasting grace.
Tired of
being satisfied with second choices made,
Gave away those things I held so dear.
In a tide of compromise, where my life's dealt and played.
For a future bright but so unclear.
Who was that man I bartered,
For some security?
Is this the place I'll refind my faith,
Open my heart, and live like I am free?
Chorus
You're
everything that I've wanted,
Your voice inside my ear.
If we unite, I can see your guiding light
And shout so that all the world can hear-
You gave
me that note,
That sign, that peace in time.
You gave me that hope,
That place, your lasting grace.
